For a brief description of the dance styles you can learn...Acro, Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Musical Theatre
Recreational dance refers to any form of dancing which is done for pure enjoyment and not as preparation for a professional performance or a teaching career. However, as dance teachers are quick to point out, the line between professional and recreational is not always easy to draw. Children introduced to dance for its social and physical benefits sometimes choose later to become professional dancers. Many adults devote a great deal of their free time to perfecting their dancing skills, enter competitions, perform before audiences and reach "professional" levels of expertise.
Competitive dance is a popular, widespread activity in which competitors perform dances in any of several permitted dance styles—such as acro, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and tap—before a common group of judges
