Toronto, Canada (PRWEB), March 5, 2014 – Performing Dance Arts (www.PerformingDanceArts.ca), Toronto’s leading dance studio for children of all skill levels, is congratulating former student Amanda Cleghorn for continuing her run as the lone Canadian dancer on Taylor Swift’s 2014 RED Tour.

“How can parents know their children are receiving the best dance lessons possible? They can look at the dance instructor’s credentials, as well as consider the success of past students,” says Ashley Daychak, artistic director at Performing Dance Arts. “For starters, Performing Dance Arts is one of the few studios in Canada where all of the teachers, including those leading the recreational programs, have their teaching certificates.”

On top of that, she adds, the success of past students reflects on the quality of instruction at Performing Dance Arts; in fact, Performing Dance Arts alumni have landed some of the most sought-after jobs in the industry. For instance, former Performing Dance Arts alumni Amanda Cleghorn was the only Canadian dancer to book Taylor Swift’s 2013 RED Tour, for which 500 hopefuls auditioned and only seven female dancers were chosen. Cleghorn will also be joining Taylor Swift on stage on the 2014 leg of her RED Tour. People also might know Cleghorn from season three of So You Think You Can Dance Canada; where she placed in the top two. Daychak explains that other alumni from Performing Dance Arts have found exciting industry jobs on the international al stage. Daniel Celebre can be seen in The Lizzie McGuire Movie and was hired as a principal dancer for Michael Jackson’s This Is It concert tour. Adam LoPapa has danced with the National Ballet of Canada and appeared in Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam and promos for So You Think You Can Dance Canada and High School Musical.

“Triple-threat Performing Dance Arts alumni Clyde Alves does it all: he sings, dances, and acts,” she observes. “Currently based in New York City, Alves has performed in Wicked, Hairspray, Oklahoma!, Fame – the Musical, Grease, and Beauty and the Beast. Most recently, Alves received rave reviews when he stood in for Matthew Broderick in Nice Work If You Can Get It on Broadway.” (Source: Ibid.)

“Whether it’s the local or world stage, Performing Dance Arts helps young dancers develop higher self-esteem, better coordination, self-discipline, creativity, poise, self-confidence, a healthy body and mind, and, most importantly, a love for dance,” Daychak concludes.

A vibrant and inspiring dance facility, Performing Dance Arts has been providing a friendly and creative atmosphere for kids for over 26 years. Located in Woodbridge, Ontario, Performing Dance Arts’ 11,000-square-foot facility offers classes in jazz, tap, ballet, acro, and hip-hop at recreational and competitive levels. Students receive quality instruction from Performing Dance Arts’ qualified dance educators, who all possess a dance teaching designation and/or dance arts degree.
